WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?

I am a senior associate in our dispute resolution and litigation department. My expertise spans all aspects of dispute resolution, with a focus on Employment and Personal Injury. I also provide probate and will drafting services.

I have over sixteen years of legal experience in the Turks and Caicos Islands and gained a wealth of knowledge in dealing with the diverse aspects of civil litigation and advisory work. I regularly advise large-scale hotel clients on employment and immigration matters.

I am well versed in the legislation that was developed in the Islands in 2012, having commented and debated on the effectiveness and or purpose of the legislation in my role as a Member of Parliament. I am well-informed of the policies and procedures of the Turks and Caicos Islands Public Service.

SUPPORTING MY CLIENTS’ OBJECTIVES

I am regularly engaged by clients in the development of their employee handbooks and employer disciplinary procedures inclusive of onsite training.

Recently, I was instructed to advise on redundancy procedures as a result of the coronavirus pandemic causing hotel and cruise operators to cease operating due to prolonged travel restrictions in the Islands and internationally. My advice provided the clients with cost-effective options and this resulted in no claims for unfair dismissal by any of the employees who were terminated by reason of redundancy.

The idiom, “time is money” is never truer in the fast-paced jurisdiction that is the Turks and Caicos Islands. As a result, I can respond to clients’ needs in a quick manner with thorough and reasoned advice.

The loss of a loved one is never easy; but with my extensive knowledge and practice in estate matters, I am able to provide clients advice in navigating the complex court process of probate and letters of administration to assist them in settling the affairs of their loved ones.
