What can I do for you?

I am a partner in Misick &Stanbrook’s commercial property development and tourism, corporate and commercial and intellectual property teams.  I frequently work on the preparation of the legal infrastructure for major residential and resort developments within the Turks and Caicos Islands to include: real estate acquisition and disposal agreements; homeowner’s association documentation; and condominium documentation.  On the corporate side, I advise a number of international public and private companies and finance houses on Turks and Caicos Islands company law and corporate capacity matters.

Supporting my clients’ objectives

The most enjoyable aspect of my work is getting the right result for my client: be this completion of an acquisition of a high value property; seeing a hotel being developed; a re-financing completed or simply a trademark registered.

Recently, I was involved in the negotiation of a development agreement for a Latin American investment group in the development of hotel sites on Grace Bay, drafting the condominium documentation and acting on the sale of the individual condominiums.   I have also acted on the acquisition of a significant Turks and Caicos Islands corporation by a major telecommunications company, on a US$75m re-financing for a listed company and the AIM listing for an international company.

 Qualifications

Prior to joining Misick & Stanbrook, I was an already established and experienced lawyer in England and Wales, where I worked for several leading and pre-eminent commercial firms, specialising in high value residential and commercial real estate work, together with undertaking many prestigious commercial transactions including a $150 million purchase of a major transport company in the UK.

I graduated from the University of Reading and completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Law (Commendation) and the Legal Practice Course (Distinction) at the College of Law in Guildford.

What else should you know?

I frequently write articles in my area of expertise and have co-authored the “commercial real estate in the Turks and Caicos Islands: overview” published on Practical Law.
